Moccasin Lake Snowshoe Trail is specially groomed for side-by-side snowshoeing, offering an easy and enjoyable trek. The remaining trails are user-packed, providing a more natural winter experience.

Antigo Single Track Trail

This ungroomed winter fat bike and snowshoe trail is close to Antigo and is a great place to ride or snowshoe. The 3.6 miles of trail consists of loops of rolling hills and beautiful scenery. The trailhead is located at N1985 Dump Rd, Antigo, WI 54409.

The trail system is designed for hiking, biking, snowshoeing, and horseback riding. Motor vehicles are prohibited on these trails. The trail is on Langlade County property and is managed by the Langlade County Forestry and Recreation Department. The trailhead is located within Langlade County's Veterans Memorial Park.

Gartzke Flowage Recreation Area

Trail Map

The trail is located entirely on Langlade County property east of Antigo off 5th Avenue Road. It's approximately 5.5 miles in length and has a variety of trails for all abilities. It is managed by the Langlade County Forestry and Recreation Department and the Antigo Bike and Ski Club. The trail is groomed and tracked by the Antigo Bike and Ski Club.

Langlade County boasts over 60 miles of the thousand-mile Ice Age National Scenic Trail that can be snowshoed in the winter. There are 7 segments: 12 miles Lumbercamp, 12.2 miles Summit Moraine, 12 miles Parrish Hills, 0.8 miles Ice Override, 12.8 miles Highland Lakes, 7.2 miles Antigo Heights, and 9.9 miles Kettlebowl. Parking areas are located at Kettlebowl Recreation Area, Sherry Road, County Hwy A, Camp Susan Recreation Area, Townline Lake Trailhead, and Parrish Road/First Lake Road.

Jack Lake Mountain Bike Trail

There is 1.2 mile snowshoe loop near Spychalla Lodge on the Jack Lake Cross Country Ski Trail.

Kettlebowl Recreation Area Track 52 Trailhead

Enjoy snowshoeing on 9 miles of varying hills at Kettlebowl Recreation Area Track 52 Trailhead. There will be plenty of heart-pumping excitement for you while snowshoeing the wooded trails in the northern Crocker Hills.

Please be aware that you may encounter sled dog teams and skijorers training. When a person or team is going to pass or overtake another team, they will call out "TRAIL!" When heard, please move to one side of the trail to allow for a safe pass.

The winter trails are groomed in cooperation with the Langlade County Forestry, Parks, and Recreation Department. Trails are marked when open. The parking lot is plowed in winter. Food & restroom facilities are available on winter weekends when Kettlebowl Ski Hill at the Kettlebowl Recreation Area (approximately 1/4 mile from the trailhead) is open from noon to 4 pm.

Kettlebowl Recreation Area Track 52 Trailhead is located approximately 14 miles northeast of Antigo on Langlade-Price Road between Bryant & Lily. The trailhead is exactly ¾ of a mile north of Hwy 52 and Langlade Price Road intersection (¾ mile west of Kettlebowl Ski Hill).

Moccasin Lake Recreation Area

The Moccasin Lake Trail System is designed for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in the winter. The snowshoe trail is located on the west side of the parking lot. Feel free to make your own trail but please stay off the cross-country ski trail. During the summer, the trail system is used for horseback riding and hiking. Nicolet Roche Trail

Enjoy a scenic snowshoe trail on the Nicolet Roche Trail System in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. The trail winds through peaceful winter woods, offering a quiet escape and beautiful seasonal views. The gently rolling terrain makes it suitable for a relaxing outing while still providing a sense of adventure.

Snowshoers may use the entire ungroomed Nicolet Roche Trail for snowshoeing/hiking during the winter. A recommended snowshoe route is the northern portion of the trail, accessed just off Highway 64, with a parking area located 3/4 of a mile past Saul Spring Road, on the south side of the highway. The user packed snowshoe trail meanders through gently undulating glacial terrain, featuring a mix of northern hardwoods and pines. The North Trail Loop is approximately 3.5 miles long, including about 2 miles of forest path and 1.5 miles along a snow-covered logging road.

Wolf River Roots has snowshoe rentals, 2 miles west of the trail on Highway 64.

Directions from Langlade (Highway 64 & 55 Intersection): Travel 3 miles east on Highway 64. Look for the Nicolet Roche Trail arrow sign on the south side of the highway, just past Saul Springs Road.

Length:
The North Trail Loop is 3.5 miles, but the entire Nicolet Roche Trail is 13 miles.
