Triple Crown returning to Langlade County Fairgrounds
August 1, 2018
The annual Northwoods Triple Crown will be held Aug. 10-12 at the Langlade County Fairgrounds in Antigo. The event kicks off on Friday at 3 p.m. with demonstrations in front of the grandstand including Reining with Kim Diercks, Katelin Bradley showcasing Thoroughbreds and their versatility after a racing career.
Stop out to support FFA and see the new Ram Trucks with Brickners of Antigo. From 3:30-5:30 Friday afternoon; for each test drive, Antigo FFA receives $20.
Beginning at 5 p.m., all students ages 12-18 are invited to attend the Brandon Lee White workshop. From goal setting to reinforcing the sense of community and family. Brandon helps teens take ownership of who they are, what they want, and move beyond what holds them back. He speaks to youth and adults in schools as well as Career and Technology Student Organizations such as FCCLA, DECA, BPA, FBLA, HOSA, FFA, and SkillsUSA as well the National Association of Student Councils and 4-H. Brandon has been seen on TLC, Discovery Health, Fit TV, and TEDx.
While teens are engaged in this free event, the rest of the family can shop with many on-site vendors, take a test drive in the new Ram trucks, and watch demonstrations in front of the grandstands.
At 7 p.m., enjoy a BBQ picnic dinner held in the multipurpose building. This year’s picnic honors our local horse trainers, youth mentors, and alumni from the 4-H horse club, previously the Wislango Riders, now known as the Langlade County Horse & Pony Project. The keynote speaker during the dinner was made possible by the Andy L. & Leone Sheldon Charitable Trust. All students ages 12-18 that attend the workshop will also receive a free dinner ticket.
The teen dinners are included at no charge through a generous donation by the Knights of Columbus as well as local businesses including Volm Companies and CoVantage Credit Union.
