Antigo’s acclaimed music in the park is winding down its summer season in style in 2015.
On Thursday evening there was something new in the park, a local talent show, and it was amazing how much of it is out there.
The show drew an exceptionally nice crowd to the park for the evening of fun, music and smiles.
Using recorded accompaniment, the performers offered a different pace of entertainment after a summer of bluegrass, a touch of religious, polkas and waltzes and even marches and military numbers when the 451st. U.S. Army Band paid a weekend visit.
On Thursday, there were a few selections that stood out.
The evening started with two in a country western duo, Jocie and Ethan Hayek, singing “Anything You Can Do, I can Do Better.” It was a tremendous opener, especially with the western outfits. In fact, the Hayek family dominated much of the program.
The evening continued with plenty of smiles and in some cases, amazement that neighbors can sing like that.
