As Halloween gets closer, the spine-chilling creatures of the night start to lurk, and on Friday and Saturday, flesh-eating zombies will take over the forest in Deerbrook.
This half-mile walk through the zombie-infested forest will take place at N5905 Ormsby Road in Deerbrook from 6-10 p.m. Overflow parking will be at the Peck Town Hall at N5702 Ormsby Road, with shuttle busses taking those back and forth to the forest.
Groups of five to 15 people will test their luck in the forest and hopefully make it to the safe spot where they’ll be greeted by the U.S. Army and military officials.
Tickets are available for pre-sale at Lakeside Market for $10 and will also be available at the gates for $15. Proceeds benefit the Langlade County Humane Society.
Food and refreshments will also be available. Brats and hot dogs were donated from Evergreen Terrace, Brown Mug will offer hot apple cider and hot chocolate, Sartori Cheese donated cheese curds, and homemade sweet treats will be available at the bake sale.
Those who want to try their luck in the forest must be 12 or older to go it alone. Anyone younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All attendees must sign a waiver to enter the forest.
Local businesses that sponsored the event are U.S. Army, Lakeside Market, Pecha Septic Services, Evergreen Terrace, Sartori Cheese, No Filter Nutrition, Bina Printing, Red’s Pro Body, and the Brown Mug.
