The champagne is chilling and surf and turf is waiting as the northwoods prepares to welcome 2020.
It may-or may not-mark the end or beginning of a new decade. It depends on who is doing the calculating. But there is no doubt the eventful “teens” of the 21st century are ending.
And there will be plenty of celebrations.
Get ready for the Roaring '20s New Year's Eve celebration at Swartzendruber's Supper Club. It includes a four course dinner starting at 7:30 p.m. featuring choice of shrimp trio or prime and lobster along with soup, salad, potato and dessert, entertainment by Sandy and Son starting at 9 p.m. and a Roaring '20s costume contest. There will be party favors and door prizes along with champagne at midnight. Tickets are $50 per person or $100 per couple and are going fast.
The crew at Swartzendruber's Supper Club is ready to ring in the New Year with a clever century-past theme, taking revelers back to the Roaring 20s. The night will include a costume contest, and here Lucinda Gilbert, LeRoy Gilbert Sr., Lyndon Swartzendruber, Joey Lasasso, and Linnea Swartzendruber show off that swingin' period garb.
The Nutshell in Phlox will be serving surf and turf specials on Tuesday evening. The bar will open at 3:30 p.m.
Crab 'N Jack's in Langlade will open at 11 a.m. on Tuesday with serving beginning at 5 p.m. The menu focuses on surf and turf specials, including bone-in grilled New York strip, gorgonzola tenderloin and “the best prime rib on the planet.” Call 715 882-8611 for reservations, special options and pricing.

Dinner specials, served from 4 to 9 p.m., will include fresh water prawns, tenderloin Oscar and porterhouse steak. It will also be featuring Gus' homemade twice-baked potatoes and salad bar and, for dessert, chocolate lava cake.
Melody Mill in Aniwa will be serving its New Year's Eve dining specials from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. They include king prime rib or ribeye plus the full menu. Call for reservations.
Boettcher's Bar will offer two-for-one drink specials on New Year's Eve and Day with the coupon in Friday's Antigo Daily Journal.
Luigi's Pizza and Pasts plans a great New Year's Eve dining experience. It will be serving its regular menu, including steaks and all of your Italian favorites. Enjoy one of 20 different types of beer on tap or a glass of exclusive Italian wine.
The Dixie Lunch will serve a 6-ounce ribeye and shrimp combo on Tuesday, including soup or salad and choice of potato. It will be closed New Year's Day.
Heartbreaker's Bar & Grill is a New Year's Eve tradition. The specials will include steak and shrimp, prime rib, tenderloin gorgonzola and chef specialty pastas including tequila lime.
