The community of White Lake will continue its yearlong centennial celebration on Saturday when it holds its second annual old-fashioned lumberjack breakfast.

The event, sponsored by the White Lake Area Historical Society and supported by Thrivent Financial, will take place from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the White Lake Community Center.

Lumberjacks, loggers, camp cooks and workers, railroad crews and sawmill employees were all part of the history of White Lake’s lumbering and logging industry. The breakfast is designed to honor those hardy workers and their families.

The menu will include flapjacks, side pork, pork sausages, fried potatoes and scrambled eggs with coffee, tea, milk, juice and donuts. It will be serve by historical society and community volunteers.

Cost for the breakfast will be $10 for adults, $5 for ages six to 11 and free for children under five.

Volunteers serve diners at last year’s lumberjack breakfast.
