The entire Langlade County snowmobile trail system opened just in time for the 32nd annual Langlade County Snowmobile Alliance ride-in held Saturday at the Lily Sno-Birds Clubhouse in Lily.
Snowmobilers from all around the county and many guests attended the event, held annually is a thank you to all club volunteers who brush, groom, sign and maintain the trails.
Food and refreshments were provided by the Snowmobile Alliance and served by the Lily Sno-Birds volunteers. Various raffles and drawings were held with prizes and donations provided by the clubs, the Alliance, Langlade County area businesses and snowmobilers.
The event also offered a chance to renew friendships with club members from around the county and other snowmobilers visiting the area. It also provided an opportunity to talk with other clubs about their grooming equipment, upcoming club events, and their snowmobiles.
Reports from the riders indicated the snowmobile trails were in very good to good condition. With the additional snow forecast for this coming week, groomer operators will be out on the trails grooming the trails for the next weekend of events in the area.
Coming up this Saturday is the Deerbrook Bridge Runners Classic Cruise vintage and antique snowmobile ride held at Quinn’s in Neva Corners along with the family club ride for Tombstone Pickerel Snowmobile Club.
Also Saturday, the Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Kids and Adults on Snowmobiles will be visiting the White Lake Market and Cafe for lunch. The group is made up of the youth directors for the Association of Wisconsin Snowmoble Clubs.
At the same time, White Lake Fire Department will host its annual fisheree.
The annual Tombstone Pickerel chili ride will be held on Saturday, Feb. 13, starting at the clubhouse. The event also includes the annual polar bear jump-in at Sportsman’s Lodge.
Langlade County has nine snowmobile clubs who maintain the over 500 miles of snowmobile trails.
