The Friends of Moose Lake Association likes to see everyone who enjoys the beautiful lake southeast of Antigo come together and get to know each other. On Saturday, August 13, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Moose Lake County Park, the organization will be hosting its 7th Annual Family Picnic with a chance for fishermen, lake residents, and those who support the activities and preservation of the lake to come together.
On a lake noted for its fishing, kayaking, pontoon boating, and swimming, the family picnic offers an opportunity for all who enjoy the lake, residents and sports-persons alike, to enjoy free brats and hot dogs from the Friends of Moose Lake while attendees are encouraged to bring a dish to pass as well as lawn chairs. Liquid refreshments are available for donation.
“It is really a great way to get people to come together with other people on the lake,” FOML secretary Connie Schaumberg said. “We have people here from all over and it’s a chance to meet others that enjoy [Moose Lake].”
A 50-50 raffle will also be held. While not meant to be a fundraiser, additional proceeds will be used for lake improvement projects and preservation of the surrounding area that the picnic’s attendees share as a common joy of nature.
