KAOS (Kids and Adults on Sleds) Visits Langlade County

The Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs (AWSC) statewide KAOS (Kids and Adults on Sleds) gathered at Camp Nana Bo Sho on Waubee Lake in Oconto County for a training workshop and a trail ride on Feb. 13-15, 2015. This event is a KAOS training week-end in leadership. The youth advisors and representatives are there to discuss ideas on how to involve youth in clubs across Wisconsin. Being a youth rep. has responsibilities. They attend their local clubs meetings and events, the AWSC Annual Fall Workshops and the Annual Spring Convention and if possible Alliance meetings for their County.

Dave Newman, AWSC President, and Lori Heideman, AWSC Vice President, led the workshop to give these youth leaders the understanding of how the volunteer snowmobile program is organized from the local snowmobile club, the county organization, to the state level.

On their ride, a very cold and windy day, the 32 youth and chaperones snowmobiled to White Lake to eat lunch at the White Lake Market Café. Langlade County AWSC Director, Dave Peterson, welcomed the group to White Lake for the luncheon provided by the Langlade County Snowmobile Council. 26 Wisconsin counties were represented at the event. Miss Snowflake, Macy Wasson, from Monroe County, joined the ride.
