Deede Invites Customers to Get ‘Grounded’ at New Coffee Shop
April 13, 2020
As of March 26, Grounded 54409 has opened for a drive-thru business.
Bobbi Deede, owner operator of the vintage coffee and ice cream lounge has completely renovated the building, located at 403 Superior Street, adjacent to the Boys and Girls club, and turned it into a cozy spot to enjoy a wide variety of full-flavored drinks and ice cream.
With over 40 syrup flavors for coffee, lattes, Italian sodas, milkshakes, malts and the choice of hot, cold or blended, Grounded 54409 has something everyone can enjoy. Even the dog can join the fun as Deede, sells pup cups for furry family members.
Deede, has partnered with multiple businesses in Wisconsin, such as “Fun Factory Sweet Shoppe” out of Rhinelander, providing a multitude of chocolates, candies, and popcorn. The “Condor Coffee Company” in Weston, supplies imported coffee beans from over 15 countries as well as “Torke Coffee” in Sheboygan, providing a variety of roasted blends for over 75 years.
In the renovation, they made the lounge a walk-in with seating and drive-thru to accommodate everyone’s needs. In order to open, Deede had to go through a virtual inspection and send in over 40 detailed photos. Deede, said she couldn’t have done it without the help of family, friends and the entire community. Ironically enough, Deede’s family has owned the “HallMarks” in Connecticut for over 40 years selling unforgettable homemade ice cream. You could say the family has a sweet tooth.
Currently, Deede is running the lounge with her family, her sister; Teri Deede, her son, Conner Deede and her nieces, Taylee and Daisy Deede. Sister Teri, made the coffee flag at the front entrance out of Bobbi’s old leather jackets and pants.
“Working at the Brown Mug coffee shop was the best job and I loved it so much, I decided to open my own shop,” said Deede.
Owning a business is nothing new for Deede, as she also owns ‘Hair by Bobbi’.
At Grounded 54409 there’s choices of full flavor, sugar free and dairy free. In addition, customers can add a scoop of ice cream to replace coffee creamer or a Little Debbie on top of shakes and malts.
Deede has a “Top Secret” menu with some creative combinations, such as cinnamon roll, funky monkey, jungle juice, Hawaiian sunset and many more. With a loyalty punch card the 10th drink is on the house.
