Classic Cruise Roars Out of Neva Saturday

Add up the ages of the 200-plus snowmobiles expected for Saturday’s classic cruise, and the number may be staggering.
The Deerbrook Bridge Runners Snowmobile Club will host the 14th annual vintage and antique snowmobile ride, headquartered at Quinn’s Bar in Neva Corners.
This week, Jim Mattek and his son, Charlie, were getting some of their 11 vintage sleds ready for the outing, with the menagerie ranging from a Johnson Skee Horse to a Yamaha 292, an assortment of Ski-Doos and more.
Every farmer has to have a John Deere, Jim said. We’ve been collecting for years. We’ve got just about every breed they made.
Seven family members are expected to join with scores of others on the vintage ride, with most using sleds dating back 30 years or more.
New sleds are welcome too.
Registration starts at 10 a.m. with the ride at noon. Afterwards, everyone is invited back to Quinn’s for food, drawings, prizes and karaoke.
The grand raffle prize will be a 1980 Yamaha Enticer, with cash awards also available.
Registration fee is $10 and includes a commemorative lapel pin, soup and sandwich supper.
Riders are invited to bring a nonperishable food item. A percentage of profits also go to the food pantry.
