It may be a little nippy, but the Langlade County Boys and Girls Club has a nice list of participants lined up for its 9 a.m. run/walk fundraiser at the fairgrounds Saturday.
“Our goal is to help promote healthy lifestyles through this annual event,” Angel Zimmerman, director of the Boys and Girls organization explained today. She cited the benefits the community has, including the ability to take advantage of the Springbrook Trail.
“We want to encourage children and their families to live healthier lifestyles and make more time for each other by participating in this event,” she added.
She stressed that everyone is welcome, from young to a bit older and beginner walkers and runners.
The event will start at the fairgrounds and continuing on through some of Antigo’s neighborhoods and onto the Springbrook Trail. Online registration has closed.
Late registration is available from noon to 6:30 p.m. now through Oct. 2 at the Boys and Girls Club or from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at the fairgrounds before the event.
Cost is $25 per person for a team of four or more and $30 for an individual.
The proceeds will help make it possible to promote health and life skills programs.
Packet pick up is Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club or race day from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.
