Jerry Schuh's Winter Polar Bear Jump-In Date: Feb. 13, 2021 Time: 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
For many years on the second Saturday in February, some hearty folks have been braving the chilly waters of Pickerel Lake for the Jerry Schuh's Polar Bear Jump in while thousands of people watch. In 2021, the Jump-In will be on February 13 at Schuh's Sportsmen's Lodge. The Jump-In starts at 1:00 pm.
And why people ask do we do this, Just for Fun! Here is a clip of history!
For anyone who wants to bear the unbearable, meet at Schuh's Sportsmen’s Lodge, on Pickerel Lake, for their annual Schuh's Winter Plunge Jump-in at 1:00 pm. Don't want to jump in? That's ok! You can watch others jump in the freezing water. Food and refreshments tent out on the ice.
Unfortunately, the Tombstone Pickerel Snowmobile Club will not be holding their Chili Ride-In in 2021 after the jump in due to COVID-19 safety.
The club considered many options but ultimately decided that canceling the Chili Ride-In was best for the health and safety of their members and the community. The Tombstone Pickerel Snowmobile Club relies on the income the Chili Ride In brings in, so, to try to minimize the loss, they will be having "A Jar in the Bar", actually "A Jar in the Pit Stop", but that phrase isn't as catchy. Over the next couple of weeks, there will be donation jars start to pop up at each of our Pit Stops. They will be clearly marked that they are for TPSC donations. Another way to support the Tombstone Pickerel Snowmobile Club is to purchase a raffle ticket at one of the club's Pit Stops. The raffle drawing will be at 3 pm on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at Maplewood Golf Course in Pickerel. You need not to be present to win.
In addition, the Pickerel Fire & Rescue Pancake Breakfast before the jump in is canceled due to COVID-19 safety.
