For many years on the second Saturday in February some hearty folks have been braving the chilly waters of Pickerel Lake for the Jerry Schuh's Polar Bear Jump in while thousands of people watch. And why people ask do we do this, Just for Fun!  Here is a clip of history!

Hardy souls from all over come to swim in the bracing waters in the outlet at Schuh's. The event is great time for snowmobilers, and they come in droves. Food and beverages are available, of course. This year, the event coincides with the Tombstone/Pickerel Winter Chili Feed and the Pickerel Lions Pancake Breakfast. FEBRUARY 12, 2005 NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART!'...
