2024 Mammoth Hike Challenge

The Mammoth Hike Challenge is back for October 2024! This year’s challenge: hike, walk, run, or backpack 44 miles on the Ice Age National Scenic Trail during October and visit 3 Trail Communities.

What's new for 2024? FIVE new Trail Communities and multiple new Ice Age Trail segments to explore, plus many bonus mile opportunities are available!

You may hike, walk, run, or backpack – whatever suits your lifestyle – and log your miles over days, weekends, weeks, or one big adventure.

You have the entire month of October to do it! Earn a hiking certificate and Mammoth Hike Challenge patch!
